Seymour Kaplan 92, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018. Kappy was born and raised in Irvington, New Jersey on February 20, 1926 to Abraham and Gussie Kaplan. He received his Master's degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania and served in the United States Navy. As a teacher, he taught industrial arts. He also taught autistic children when it was first being recognized as a subject. After teaching for a few years, he became a business executive in the corporate world. Kappy lived in south Florida for 22 years before moving to Las Vegas in 1984. He was married to Ann and they had 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Kappy was instrumental in creating Temple Sinai in Las Vegas and continued his work there until relocating back to Florida in 2014. In addition to his activities at Temple Sinai, he was on the Summerlin Compliance Board and a delegate for his community in Las Vegas, Nevada.
