My favorite memories of Uncle Scott revolve around the first time we'd see him when we'd visit. His eyes would light up, he'd give you a big hug with a smile. He was always happy to see you, he wanted you to know how excited he was, and you felt loved. You knew you were a part of his world. I'm going to miss his innocent happiness, hearing his "Hi, Ben!" when he saw me. We love you, Uncle Scott.

     I have several memories of the gentle soul that was Scott.

When I was in Florida painting the Wilcox family home years ago Scott decided he would accompany me to the small neighborhood hardware store. I was in a hurry so I told him if he would wait in the truck (I could see him from the store window) we would stop at McDonalds and get a coke on the way home. After that he would make sure he was always available for our daily trip to the hardware store and of course McDonalds. We had many cokes sitting peacefully under the carport that summer. 

Scott had a gift for dates. Out of the blue I ask him what day of the week May 15, 1967 was. He instantly told. I had my doubts so I looked it up. I never doubted him again. 

I'll finish by saying Florida will never seem the same to me without Scott.

Uncle Scott was a great guy. My favorite memory was from over a decade ago, during one of my visits. Everyone had gone to bed, but as a visitor I got to stay up and was watching an episode of Battlestar Galactica. He snuck out to watch and I gently put a finger to my lips to ask him to stay quiet. Not often inclined to silence, he was quiet the entire time and got to stay up an extra hour watching sci-fi with me. Then I said good night and he went back to bed. Happy to facilitate you being sneaky, Uncle Scott. 😁
