Ruth Elvira Frederick
"Ms. Elvira" passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL. Elvira was born on February 27, 1934 to the late Cecil Frederick, Sr. and Irone Frederick in West Palm Beach, FL. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1952, and attended Clark College in Atlanta, GA and Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. She worked for 35 years in government for the Clerk of Courts and the Florida State Court System in Palm Beach County. Elvira was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and sang in several choirs, including the Gospel Chorus, the Sanctuary Choir, the Combined Choir and, several years ago, with The Frederick Sisters. She was a member of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Delta Chapter, and a former member of the Ebony Chorale. Elvira was very involved with her children and their school activities at John I. Leonard High School, and was a member of the Band Parent and Track Parent associations. Loving memories of Elvira will be cherished by her daughters Denise Carter (Tyrone), Indian Harbour Beach, FL and Lisa Dorsey, West Palm Beach; sisters Alice Winn (Ulysses) and Loretta Kinsey, both of Riviera Beach; two goddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Ave., West Palm Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 801 8th St., West Palm Beach, FL on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00AM.
