Mr. Garcia age 76 of Palm Springs, Florida returned home to the Lord on February 28, 2012. Ruben began his earthly journey on October 12, 1935 in Havana, Cuba to the late Mr. Julian Garcia Lima and the late Mrs. Onelia Nunez Leon. Following his childhood in Havana, Ruben began his working career in Cuba as a tradesman in the Commercial Electrician industry. He later migrated to Costa Rica and in 1981 came to the United States of America settling in West Palm Beach, Florida with his wife and children. After coming to America Ruben found himself a job working for Cumberland Farms where he remained employed for fifteen years before finishing his working career with the Palm Beach County School System for eleven years as a Maintenance Engineer until his retirement. During his pastime he enjoyed watching Baseball and Boxing on TV and he also enjoyed watching a good movie with his family, but most importantly giving advice. As Ruben's health began to diminish he found an everlasting joy in his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to the Lord as a "Born Again Christian". Ruben fervently read the Bible and prayed not only for himself to be protected, but lived the "Word" by also praying for those whom might be in greater distress than himself. His new found love for his Lord & Savior was a testament to not only his family and friends but anyone that came into contact with Ruben. Ruben during his final days in a vivid dream state, awoke from his rest and testified to his daughter, Duny regarding his beatific vision of what his walk through "Heaven" appeared to be; including streets as clean and clear as pure glass and people with heavenly smiles on their faces totally surrounding him, and an overwhelming sense of calmness and peace. Ruben's love will perpetually live on in the hearts and minds of his cherished family and friends!
Ruben is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty years, Dunia; his loved and adored daughter, Duny Falero and her husband, Ramon of Greenacres, FL; his two precious grandchildren, Daniel & Janelle Falero; his loved and admired siblings, Berta Costa and Jose Garcia both of Miami, FL; his two nephews, Luis Costa and Jose Antonio Costa; his niece, Bertanice Costa.
