Robert James Hundley

Robert James Hundley joined his Heavenly Father, wife and daughter in Heaven on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the age of 83. He was born on July 4, 1930 to Shell and Helen Hundley in Newark, NJ. Bob graduated high school, joined the U.S. Navy and saw combat duty in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army. He then moved to South Florida where he met his wife of 46 years, Roberta, deceased in 2006. Bob loved his wife, his family, travel, the ocean, good food, and the study of gems and minerals. He was one of the original members of the Gem & Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches. Bob was a parishioner and lector at the Holy Name of Jesus Church for 45 years. He worked in radio broadcasting for 35 years. Bob was also a crisis line and hospice volunteer. Bob was husband to Roberta; father to Mike, Cathy and Paul; father-in-law to Mary and Pat; and Grandpa Bob to Jessica, Luke, Grace and Jake. He is also survived by Rory, Debra, Scott and Griffen. Bob was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Gathering will be held between the hours of 4:30 to 6:30 PM on Thursday, February, 6, 2014 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, Fl 33417, with a Wake Service to be held at 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 7, at Holy Name of Jesus church, West Palm Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407.
