Norma Angela Gustafson passed on March 18, 2022 in Jupiter, Florida. Norma is survived by her brother John Letizia, Jr., her children, Ronald W. Gustafson Jr. (Louisa), Karen (Bobby) Gugino, Christine (Rob) Ferone and Robert W. Gustafson; grandchildren, Ronnie, Amanda, Thomas, Kristine, Michael, Anthony, Vincent; great-grandchildren, Nico, Savannah and Francesca. Norma was born on August 1,1932 in Staten Island, New York. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald W. Gustafson, Sr. (Dusty) and her parents John and Marie (Sellitti) Letizia and her brother Carlo Rocco Letizia. Norma and Dusty were married in Staten Island in 1954. They were proprietors of Ruth & Norma's Luncheonette until relocating to their new home in New Dorp Beach. They raised their four children there until retiring to West Palm Beach. Norma grew up sharing her mother's love of opera and was named after her mother's favorite. She learned piano at an early age and continued to play for her family. Norma was introduced to her husband, Dusty, by her brother Carlo because of their shared love of reading. She was also an avid crossword solver which she also enjoyed with Dusty. Her other hobbies included gardening, and bowling on a mixed league, which she enjoyed for many years. She loved watching all sports, especially baseball, and enjoyed many vacations visiting baseball stadiums throughout the country. Norma worked at the Mercantile Exchange after graduating Curtis High School in 1949. After raising her children, Norma worked part-time at Habild's Art store and the Staten Island Hospital in Personnel Services. After retiring from her position at the hospital, Norma and Dusty moved to Florida where she could spend time with two of her children and spent many summers with her other children at the Jersey shore. A service is scheduled for Thursday, March 24,2022 at 11:00 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, located at 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, FL. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Norma's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trustbridge.com (Hospice) or Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches in Norma's name. A Memorial Mass will be held for Norma at the Church of The Holy Family in Staten Island, N.Y. on Thursday, March 31,2022 at 5:00.
