I am deeply sorry for your loss.  Mike was always very kind to me.  Ralphie and he are in heaven.  Take care, cousins.

I just found out about Mike Mallone's recent death and at this late date I want to pay my respects to an outstanding leader in the philatelic area of First Day Covers.
I never had the privilege of meeting Mike, but I knew about him from hearing and reading about his unbelievable achievements in advancing the interests of philately, especially in terms of First Day Covers.  I am a retired First Day Cover collector, cachet maker and dealer without portfolio (meaning in name only}.  I am listed under the name "Brandon' s Maverick First Day Covers" in the AFDCS.  At age 98, in an assisted living facility, I am somewhat limited in my philatelic endeavors.   I have one listing in  Mallones Specialized catalog, courtesy of Ms. May Day in the late nineties, as member's of the "Graebner Chapter 17, AFDCS".  
My deepest condolences are extended to Mikes family.

To my Florida Family..I send my love and condolences with the loss of my favorite male cousin.  I will never forgot all of our special time in the Pocono's and especially in Florida.  You will always be in my heart... love always Rosanne

I never had the privilege to know Mike personally, but I did know him through his publications for the Hobby of First Day Cover Collecting. It was because of Mike's tireless work in this field that I learned so much. And I am sure that he enriched the lives of all others who were fortunate enough to know him, both personally, as well as through his work.

Mike was not only a major influence on first day cover collecting (a branch of stamp collecting) but a really nice guy. I enjoyed every moment of the time I spent with him at stamp shows, both those of the American First Day Cover Society and other shows he produced. To his family: rest assured the name "Mike Mellone" will be remembered for eternity in FDC collecting.

Barbara, Thank you for condolences.  It was great having him in Florida for his last few years even though his health was failing. My sister and I were very close to him and he will be missed dearly. Love you bro

Dear Michele, Mark, Kim and family,  So sorry to hear of Mike's passing.  I have several fond memories of Mike.  We know he is at peace now and in the arms of your parents and Dottie.  All our love, prayers and hugs are with all of you at this difficult time.

Where do I begin?  You were more than a Brother to me - you were my partner.  All of our lives we have shared many happy times.  There wasn't a thing that I wouldn't do for you and you for me.  You amazed me with the hurdles that you struggled through - so strong.  Mike, we learned a lot from your life ambitions.  You were a successful business man in which I hope to carry on your legacy and further its growth.  You had an amazing loving wife that thought the world of you - she was not alone.  Mark, Me & Kim including your family  will feel a tremendous loss without you in our lives however, your witty humor and the fun times will live in our hearts forever .... my love forever and ever "Sis"
