Mary Bowe Hadley, age 92, passed away peacefully June 2, 2021 with her family at her side. She was born on June 23, 1928, in Lockhaven, Pennsylvania and attended the Cincinnati Conservatory. A visit to West Palm Beach after graduation resulted in a move to the area, where she met her future husband, Hyatt Ward Hadley, and was married May 11, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2001.
A smart and business-minded woman, Mary enjoyed working in many different businesses over the span of her lifetime. Because she enjoyed her work and co-workers, she found it hard to leave the workplace, retiring from Sotheby’s International Realty at the age of 80. From there, she went on to hold various volunteer positions in the community, serving at the Historical Society, the Allamanda Garden Club and the Holy Trinity Flower Guild and Altar Guild.
Mary stayed busy with other pursuits as well. She loved to travel and enjoyed numerous cruises and tours of Europe, Alaska and the Caribbean. Weekly bridge games continued until this past year. She loved bicycling, swimming, yoga and tai chi, enlisting her friends to join her.
A longtime resident of the south end of West Palm Beach, Mary engaged in meaningful relationships with her neighbors and will be greatly missed by many.
Finally, Mary loved her family deeply. She leaves behind her children, Trevor Hadley (Marilyn) and Denise “Petey” Glover (John), 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, June 7th at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mary B. Hadley to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 211 Trinity Place, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401.
