Marty W. Byrd

Marty Wade Byrd, of Greenacres, FL was called to eternal rest on December 23rd, 2023. He was born on June 2nd, 1955 in Marshfield, Missouri to Billy Gene and Lula Irene (Nunn) Byrd, whom preceded him in death. He was the oldest of 5 siblings, Michael Byrd (Linda), Bryan (Deanne) Byrd, Cyndy (Scott) Enke and Rebecca (Kevin) Jackson.

Marty graduated from Boca Raton High School, in Boca Raton, FL (class of 1973) and married Marilynn Anita (McCarty) on November 26th, 1977, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Lake Worth, FL. They were blessed with two children, Jason (Kaitlyn) Byrd and Susan (Adam) Byrd, and six grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey, Izabella, Alexzander, Ainsley and Wyatt. Marty loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and when they were younger, he was particularly fond of sitting his grandchildren on his knee and asking if they were Papa's boy or girl, and his nephews and nieces if they were Uncle Marty's boy or girl.

Marty loved road trips, fishing and boating, and was an avid sports fan with a wide range of interests. He loved Golf, College Basketball, the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs, the Miami Marlins and was a diehard St Louis Cardinals fan, as well as a huge fan of Nascar. Each February you could find him at the Daytona 500, an event he made sure not to miss for fifty years! He was also a fan of westerns, especially old westerns, oldies, rock-n-roll and country music. Prior to succumbing from his two year battle with cancer, Marty retired from Lynn Insurance Group in Boca Raton, FL, after more than 30 years of dedicated service.Over the years, Marty made countless friendships, many of them lifelong, and he truly cherished them all and greatly enjoyed spending time amongst his friends and family.
