Marion Donohoe Napier

Marion Donohoe Napier, 103, of Gastonia, NC, passed away March 30, 2023 at Covenant Village. She was born March 14, 1920 in Buffalo, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Memphis Marion Donohoe and Alli May Crandall Donohoe.

Marion retired from Broward County Schools in Ft. Lauderdale Florida where she taught Business Education. Her educational career began at Marshall University, Huntington, WV, where she obtained a BA and later an MA.

She was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She began serving Him while a teenager playing piano for tent revivals. She was a life long student of the Bible and all the Gospel it proclaims.

Marion is survived by one son, Robert W. (Bill) Napier, II and wife, Linda, of Belmont, NC. A grandson, Robert A. Napier, and wife Janet, of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Cheri N. Turner and husband, Jon, of Marietta, GA and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert W. Napier of Gastonia.

A family graveside funeral service will he had at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, West Palm Beach, Florida with Reverend Michael Rice officiating.

The family wishes to thank and commend the outstanding care given to Marion by Covenant Village’s professional Health Care staff who’s love and affection for Marion and her family will always be remembered with great thanks and appreciation.
