Marilyn Fox Davis, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 3rd, 1926 in Farmersburg , Indiana, she was the youngest of four children and took great pride in her Midwestern roots.
Marilyn married her husband, William E. Davis DDS, shortly before her 21st birthday. After moving to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1955 when her husband relocated his dental practice, Marilyn quickly became involved in the community, and she embraced her life as a dental wife and homemaker. Marilyn enjoyed entertaining and was an excellent cook. She always said, “Raising her four children was her life’s work”.
She was a member of the PEO Philanthropic Organization, Daughters of the American Revolution, Junior League and Dental Society. She loved to grow orchids, play Bridge and tennis. Kind & compassionate, she loved all animals. Marilyn had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her Midwestern maxims. With her beautiful smile, easy laugh and gracious charm – she was loved by many.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, grandson Rhett Davis, and her siblings Robert Fox and Virginia Hayes.
She is survived by her sister Betty Mahan, four children: Dr. Jeff Davis and his wife Debbie, Brent Davis and his wife Annie, Dixie Scott, Leigh Branch and husband Dave, nine grandchildren; Tricia Rielly, Natasha Davis, Nicole Norris, Jack Davis, Max Davis, Brittney Scott, Kenan Scott, Clint Branch and Savannah Branch, three great grandchildren; Emma, Grant and Madeline Rielly in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, family would like honorable mention donations to Busch Wild Life Sanctuary Telephone Number: ( 561) 575- 3399. The family will hold a memorial gathering on Saturday, August 20th at 2pm at Brazilian Hotel Conservatory. Graveside services to be private.
