Born Margaret Eva Stoll in 1930, the middle child in a family of five. Life on a farm in Northbrook, Illinois was punctuated with her primary education in Chicago at the Sacred Heart School. Married Edward Webb Crawford in 1953. Following seven years in Northfield, Illinois, a decision was made to move to Palm Beach, FL. Thus, began the next chapter in her life, raising 5 sons and a daughter. President of the ladies’ guild of Saint Edward’s Church, Junior League projects, on the board of the Palm Beach Day School and raising six children with their endless trips to sporting events, to the doctor, and to church were handled with the same love and care. Margo’s bright personality showed in all she did. Saint Margo is fondly remembered by all those she touched. Her joys included; her family, slalom water skiing, horseback riding, marlin fishing, continual recipe testing for the many cookbooks on which she worked and the endless mind-numbing miles chauffeuring children, at least it seemed like she did. She was the bright bulb in the room, radiating love and kindness. She was a rock, she was the glue that held our family together. Her quiet strength and unrelenting support made you feel like an only child, despite the fact we had to share her with many others. Margo was a gift who shared all that she had, an endless wellspring of love. It is that un-failing love for all she met that she will be most remembered. Her innocent beauty was a gift we all shared.
She is survived by one sister, six children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
