Mrs. DeGroat age 72 of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2010. Margaret was born on August 27, 1938 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late, Daniel F. Carville and the late, Florence nee Cunningham Carville. She moved to the West Palm Beach area in July of 1984 and had formerly resided in the Ellington, CT area from 1979 until July of 1984. Prior to her residence in Ellington, CT, Margaret resided in the Enfield area for 20 years. Margaret was an independent Real Estate Broker in the West Palm Beach market area for the last 20 years. She was a member of the Society of the Arts in Palm Beach and a major contributor to the Goodwill Industries. Margaret was a protestant Congregationalist member for most of her life. She was an avid reader, loved to watch game shows, shopping and growing orchids. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family, another Star adorns the night sky!
Survivors include her husband, Edward L. DeGroat, III; her two children, Suzanne (Michael) Rivera of Enfield, CT and Jonathan Robbins (companion-Gina Groves) of Raleigh, NC, step-children, Edward DeGroat of West Palm Beach, FL, four adored grandchildren, Emily & James Rivera, and Kristin & Jonathan Robbins; her two loved great grandchildren, Emma & Conner.
The family will hold a private ceremony to honor her memory at a later date. Those planning expressions of sympathy may give to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 in loving memory of Margaret Carville DeGroat.
