Kim Ralph Belvin was born in Griffin, GA, Spaulding County, on July 11, 1951 to Helen (Hall) Belvin Maddox and Ralph Edward Belvin. Kim was raised by his grandfather and uncles, and they taught him the skills of hunting and fishing on the Flint River. During his youth, Kim excelled in 4-H farming, dairy, and raising cattle and hogs. Kim attend Griffin High School, and studied animal husbandry.
Kim became an entrepreneur in the summer of 1969 at the Atlanta Pop Festival, by selling watermelons from the back of a pickup truck during the festival. Kim went on to found the Palm Beach County Poultry Fanciers; he was a machinist at Southern States LLC; and retired from his business, West County Water Filter Service, after 30 years.
Kim moved to West Palm Beach in 1977, where he met his wife, Margaret (Green) Belvin. They married July 14, 1979, and celebrated 43 happy years of marriage before his passing.
Kim participated in Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairgrounds for many years, creating and operating the Smoke House. Kim continued catering in his 1870 chuck wagon pulled by two black mammoth mules.
Kim was predeceased by his parents and his son Adam Belvin. He leaves behind wife Margaret "Peggy"; son Kent Belvin; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; along with numerous uncles and cousins still residing in Griffin, Georgia; and his beloved white mules Spook and Mirra.
