I knew Kelly for only about ten years but in that time I had come to value him as a good friend, a fine companion, and a good man.  He was that increasingly rare fellow in our modern era, the true Southern gentleman. Always well groomed and courtly, he was gracious, polite, and well spoken.  However, most of all, I find the terms to best describe Kelly are kind, and considerate. I find it remarkable that I never heard him say anything negative about anyone, which is a most unusual trait in this town of Palm Beach! 
Kelly was a very proud father, and I know he loved his family very much. When I thought Kelly needed some cheering up, I would ask him about his children. He would smile happily, and then brightening like a light bulb, with sparkling eyes he would tell me how much he had enjoyed playing with them the other day, or how much he was looking forward to his next visit, and to the activities he was planning. 
He was bright and perceptive, and he often provided good insight on varied topics. In conversation, his sharp mind would sometimes wander, and upon realizing this, Kelly, always the gentleman, would apologize to the friend with whom he was talking. He was a quiet and thoughtful person, and although he sometimes  seemed a bit sad, he could suddenly grin and break into an enthusiastic and infectious laugh. He was quite sensitive to the moods of those around him, and I noted that he would try to cheer up those companions who needed some support, consolation, a wise comment, or just a quiet friendly buddy by their side. He really cared about his friends. 
I find I miss his benevolent presence, kind words, wise commentary, warm chuckle, and just plain good friendship. I pray that you have found peace, my friend Kelly. 

Kelly & I grew up together. Kelly was 3 years older than  I and I always looked up to him as a brother.  I can’t remember ever not knowing Kelly. He had a heart of gold and was always supportive . He help me work thru one of the most  difficult periods of my life.  He stood beside me when others didn’t, and was always there when I needed a friend. We live together for many years . We laugh , cried and celebrated  life together. Kelly was a true friend and his love of life , family, & friends was a site to be hold and admired.  Although I hadn’t spoken with Kelly in quite some time , I know in my heart if I ever needed him, he would have been there for me. My heart is broken, and part of it will never mend due to the loss of my dear friend. My heart goes out to his wife and children whom I never had the pleasure of meeting.  To his  wife & children I am truly sorry for your loss. The world loss one of the best people I ever had the pleasure of knowing, but heaven gained a sanit. Although he will be miss, take comfort in knowing  that you will all reunite in heaven .  Death is just another phase of life , it’s just like being born, we are here for just a short time . The time we spent on earth, is just a speck of time compared to entirety, and Kelly made the best of every day. Kelly is in a better place now where’s there no pain or suffering. Rejoice and celebrate his life. Kelly’s passing was felt all across the nation. He was a friend to every one and I feel fortunate to call him my friend. Rest In Peace my brother, you will be greatly missed. Much love to his family, and friends, who were close to him at his time of passing. Somethings are difficult to make sense of , life can be overwhelming at times , and somethings we are not meant to understand. God has a plan for each one of us, and we are not meant to understand his plan. All we can do is accept the pain , and try to learn from this painful period .
