Joseph Leslie Giue of Wellington Florida, passed away after a long illness at the age of 81. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, New York to Frances and Mary Giue October 16,1942. He grew up in Brooklyn with his brother Frank Giue and his Italian and Irish family. He attended Catholic school at St. Cecilia's and All Hallows in New York.
Joe served in the Airforce as a radio technician in Madrid Spain where he learned to speak Spanish. He returned to New York where he was a speed skater and worked at the skate shop in Central Park, New York.
Joe began his career in trucking working for his father, Frances Giue, in Brooklyn.
He moved to Pennsylvania where he helped build the 3 Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant. He then resumed his career in trucking with Roadway Express. Joe loved motorcycling through Pennsylvania.
Joe later moved to Florida where he became a partner in Chrissy's Old Time Ice Cream Shop near Disney in Orlando Florida. He met and married his beloved wife Anna of 32 years and moved to South Florida where he resumed his trucking career with Walgreens Drugs. Joe loved Classical music, boating and water sports.
After retirement he enjoyed the Palm Beach night life and going to Polo games with his friends in Wellington Florida.
Joe loved children and contributed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital for 25 years.
He leaves behind his wife Anna Giue, stepson Aaron Copeland, Christine Copeland and step-granddaughter Robyn Copeland. He also leaves his cherished nephews and family, Brian and Steven Giue and their mother Joann Giue. Also survived by his Sister in law Joan Giue and his Irish family with Eileen Coyle as well as his family of cousins and close friends.
A graveside service will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7,Lake Worth Fl 33469 on July 9,2024 at 11:00 am (arrive at 10:30 am) Followed by a Celebration of His Life at Momma Mia's Tattoria & Brick Oven Pizzeria on 8855 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth Fl 33467 at 12:00 pm.
