John William WALLACE, age 81, passed away on Saturday August 31, 2019. John was born on April 16, 1938 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the son of Jack and Betty (Butler) Wallace. He resided in Palm Beach County for all 81 years of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane H. Wallace; his daughter, Melissa “Missy” Theel (James); his two sons, John “Jay” W. Wallace, Jr. (Annette) and David Michael Wallace (Vicki); his three grandchildren, Casey Wallace and Hayden & Bailey Theel; his sister, Jackie Kemp and his brother, Emory Wallace.
In his early years, John attended Palm Beach High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps and later the Active Reserves, rising to the rank of Staff Sargent. A longtime employee of Florida Power & Light, he served the company for over 52 years. He acquired an interest in horticulture and became a member of the Orchid Society of the Palm Beaches and took pride in his avocado trees. John’s family and friends will never forget his passion for being outdoors, his love for fishing, hunting and putting his tools to use.
A Celebration of his life, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, 6411 Parker Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, with a reception at the funeral home to follow. Private Interment services will be held Wednesday.
