Irving Ritz, Businessman and Artist, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away on Memorial Day, May 27, 2013 at the age of 93. Irving was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 26, 1919. He was the first child of Fanny Kerstein and Jacob Ritz. He served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Hilo in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Irving was married to Matty Login on June 21, 1947; they were married 65 years. Irving was the co-owner of Ad-Ritz Mfg. Corp. of Rego Park, NY. The business started as a manufacturer of costume jewelry. Later it became a retail business specializing in sales and service of televisions, electronics, and air conditioners. Irving did custom design of TV and Hi-Fi console cabinets. Irving retired in 1982 and lived primarily in Florida. During his retirement Irving became a sculptor and painter. His marble sculptures are in numerous private collections. He was a long time member of the Artist Guild of the Palm Beaches and received many awards at the Guild's juried shows. Irving is survived by his wife Matty Ritz; his daughter Jaclyn Hennard and her husband Jacques of Mantes la Ville, France and their daughter Eloise; his son Edward Ritz and wife Trude of New Paltz, NY and their children Alex and Anya; his daughter Lori McQueeney, and her husband David of Somers, NY and their sons Matthew and Russell; his sister Sylvia Malkin and other family and friends. Irving is preceded in death by his brother Albert Ritz.
