Harris L. Weinstein, 79, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., passed peacefully on October 25 at his home surrounded by his wife of 39 years, Debora, his children and grandchildren. Harris was a graduate of Syracuse University and assumed his father's garment factory at a very young age. Harris' interest in real estate developed into the founding of Sunburst Property Management and Weinstein Realty in Allentown, PA. In 1985, Harris purchased half interest of Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom and became the CEO and Chairman of the Board until 1992. Harris is a founding president of the Northeastern Foundation of Cystic Fibrosis, a national trustee of Cystic Fibrosis, and VP and a director on the Board of Place of Hope, Palm Beach Gardens. Harris is preceded in death by his parents, Isidor and Bertha Weinstein as well as his son, Brett Weinstein. Survivors: Wife Debora Jean Plarr Weinstein; sons, David, husband of Marybeth of Allentown, PA; Jamie of Washington DC; daughters, Beth, wife of Bruce Levy of Rydal, PA , and Lisa, wife of Bruce Grossman of Bryn Mawr, PA; and sisters, Edith Miller and Sylvia Sussman. Harris has eight grandchildren.
