

After a long struggle with respiratory disease, a pioneer in Environmental and Public Health, Frank J. Gargiulo, succumbed to his illness on September 24, 2016. Frank was a graduate of Palm Beach High School, Palm Beach Junior College, University of Florida and University of Miami. He also attended University of Central Florida and Florida International University. An Environmental Engineer by profession, Frank remained licensed in the State of Florida to the day of his death. Many local projects and organizations had the benefit of Frank’s work. He retired from the Florida Department of Health in 2005, after 35 years. He also worked for numerous local engineering firms. Frank was President of the South Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and numerous other professional organizations. Frank is survived locally by his sister, Norma Malavasi; wife, Miriam Gargiulo; son, Anthony Gargiulo; daughter, Patricia Boxold; son-in-law, David Boxold; his three grandchildren, Andy, Elizabeth and Victoria; and cousins, Nick Cioffi and Michael Pucillo. Frank’s younger brother, Albert Gargiulo (a prominent local engineer) pre-deceased Frank suddenly in February of this year.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2106 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL, 33405
