Frances M Crowley

Fran passed peacefully at home on November 27, 2020, at age 77, with Jim by her side. Through more than three years of fortitude, acknowledging the cancer that would take her, she never lost hope to love her family longer. In her endurance she felt every day was a gift.

Born in South Boston to James and Frances McCarthy, Franny was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, James and Joseph. She leaves her beloved sister Marianne Lenihan of Philadelphia, PA, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Fran met the love of her life, James Crowley, the boy next door, at the age of 16 and married him at age 19. They soon began their family of three devoted daughters; Lisa, Julie and Catherine, who were raised in North Easton, MA, where Fran and Jim also created and operated Easton Seafood from 1980-1997. After 30 years in Easton, they moved to Palm Beach, FL, fulfilling a dream to live on the ocean.

Fran is survived by Jim, their three daughters, and their families: Lisa and Richard Beneduce and their sons Zack and James of Sebastian, FL; Julie and Lianne Sullivan-Crowley and their daughters Anne Frances and Elizabeth of Princeton, N.J.; and Catherine Newman and her children Nicholas and Grace of Vero Beach, FL.

Fran had the unique ability to make all people feel special, never judging. Her love of the ocean, reading, and playing card games she learned from her father, are shared by her daughters and their children. An avid patron of the arts, Fran volunteered and later worked at Florida Stage and The Society of The Four Arts. She gave her time, talent and understanding to many efforts, especially as a member of Al-Anon for 32 years and as a volunteer at The Hanley Foundation in FL, providing addiction recovery support to those who suffer addiction and to those affected by addiction. Fran’s calm quiet and empathetic ways made her so special. Her family and friends dearly miss her loving presence.
