It's been only days since Penny passed , I can't stop thinking of her and the wonderful service you girls had for her ! I've already said how I feel but .....my mind keeps going thinking and loving and missing her . I hope to see you girls again with love Cheryl

When our son Andrew was very young, he hated driving in a car, strapped into his carseat.  Penny took a tape recorder (cassette - remember them?) and sang a few old songs ("... a bushel and a peck ...").  Andrew loved listening to Penny sing those songs.  So much so that, some years later (and out of his carseat years), Andrew would still ask for the "Grammy Penny" tape.  In fact, several of Andrew's friends also became fond of the "Grammy Penny" tape, and they would ask to listen to "Grammy Penny" sing the old songs "for Andrew."  It seems remarkable -- yet, wholly in character -- for Penny's simple, un-self-conscious gift to have reached so many.  We will miss you, Grammy Penny.

The footprint of an icon can never be refilled.Penny,your quick witted joy is a gift to the Universe.  I rest assured and happy that now your spirit sails freely within all those you loved and who loved you. Please scout hairdressers and manicurists for us.  With love and gratitude.

To the most loving, shining, unselfish woman I had the privilege to know. One who was straight forward yet kind, gentle, funny, honest & talented. She specialized in relationships and anyone that crossed paths could not help but fall in love with her and her spirit. I was one of the lucky ones who got to share many conversations,  gifts and stories with her on a daily basis. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and as if they weren't enough, she adopted others like me. Always positive and encouraging to anyone especially the little people. My heart will forever hold a place for Penny, remembering all the songs she sang with humor and love to my own grandchild who also adored her.

Grammy Penny was such a joyful, funny, warm and welcoming person. She knew how to make you feel beautiful, important, heard and adored. I looked up to her---The times that I got to spend with her over the last 15 years since I've been best of friends with her Grandson Jeremy, I've cherished and always will.

It was my pleasure to work with Penny at Bonwit Teller during the 80's and we continued to connect through the years since.  She was an integral part of the "team" and shared her sunny disposition and great wit with all that she met.  And I really looked forward to her chopped chicken liver when we had pot luck lunches or dinners!  In spite of her illness she was kind enough to remember my husband when he passed away a few months ago.  I will miss her and will only have very positive happy memories.  As family you are blessed by knowing how many people loved her and she touched so many lives!
God bless you all - she was so proud of her family and I feel that I know each of you because of the things she shared with us!  I am so sorry that I cannot be with you tomorrow for the service.

Penny was well loved by everyone that worked with her at Bonwit Teller, she was always so full of cheer!

Genuine, caring, loving, enthusiastic, eccentric, outgoing, compassionate, smiling and laughter. These are the first words that come to my mind when I hear the name Penny Jacobs. There was nothing more that Penny wanted out of life than to see everyone with a smile on their faces. I think it was her passion to ensure that by the time she had taken the first step into a room that everyone knew she was there, with her glowing ora, and you just couldn't help but to stop what ever you were doing, put a big smile on your face, walk over to her for a big hug and a kiss on the cheek!

She was always out there to cheer everyone up. Our family still has a cassette tape she made for one of our summer road trips with some of her favourite songs on it like "Who would marry you? I would like to know, because every time I look at your face it makes me want to go ... Around the corner." I just can't think of this song without hearing Penny's voice.

I am now living in New Zealand, but Penny and I kept up on a semi-regular basis via email and LinkedIn. She was into her technology. I was lucky enough to see her glowing face when I came back for the first time in 3 years last July where she was able to attend my Step-Sister's wedding, and all she could do was pour out complements to the bride.

There was never a time that I ran into Penny that she didn't take the opportunity to show me pictures of her grandkids and brag about every one of them and how successful they were. She loved you all with all her hearts and I think you should know that. 

Penny Jacobs will always be remembered, and never forgotten.

Love you Penny, and you will be deeply missed.
