Missy was born in New York City on September 17, 1965.
She was the wife of Frederick Wright, Jr. whom she married on November 5, 2016.
She was the daughter of Peter Nicholas Geisler of Gloversville, NY and Connie Wheeler Geisler of Palm Beach, FL.
Her maternal Great-Grandparents were Mr. & Mrs. John Birdsall, Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Seymour Wheeler of Palm Beach.
Her Grandparents were Arthur E. Wheeler and Claire Birdsall Wheeler Gardner of Palm Beach.
Her paternal Great Grandparents were Mr. & Mrs. Frank Geisler and Mr. & Mrs. Charles Houghteling and her Grandparents were Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Geisler, all of Gloversville, NY.
Missy graduated from The Elizabeth Morrow School and The Dwight-Englewood School, where she was on the cross-country and track teams. During the summers she volunteered at NYU Hospital in the Spina Bifida clinic.
Missy also graduated from Middlebury College, where she was on the cross-country ski team and was active in student affairs.
Missy was a debutante at the New York Infirmary Ball and The Junior League of Englewood Ball.
Missy earned two Masters degrees from New York University in Health Care Administration and Hospital Administration. She became the Assistant to the President of Rockefeller University and was an administrator at New York-Cornell Hospital.
Missy traveled the world and spent many vacations with her family in Palm Beach and Lake Placid, NY. She was the Commodore of the Lake Placid Regatta and came in first place that year. She loved tennis, scuba diving and golf.
After dear Missy was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Myopathy, she moved to Winter Park and then to Palm Beach for the rest of her life, to be with her family. Despite her handicap, she led a beautiful and active life.
Missy was a giving person and was proud to be part of many charitable and civic organizations, including The Junior League of New York, The Society of the Four Arts, The Garden Club of Palm Beach, and The Royal Poinciana Chapel.
She was a member of The Englewood Field Club, The Winter Park Racquet Club, The Bath & Tennis Club and Doubles.
Despite her handicap, Missy never complained. She always found the joy and humor in every situation and was greatly admired by her friends and family.
Missy is survived by her parents, husband and brother, Peter N. Geisler, Jr. and sister-in-law, Soraya Whelton Geisler; Precious nieces Jasmine Birdsall Geisler and Violet Whelton Geisler, her Uncle Albert Wheeler and cousins Chip and Weston Wheeler, all from Lake Placid, NY; Aunts Sally Kitchen, Mary Lane, Joan Seeley and Patsy Wheeler Cowie; Cousins, Caroline Birdsall Sory, John & June Sory, Claire Valier House, Kathy & Bill Wallace, Gay & David Cogburn. Missy had many other cousins and relatives whom she loved.
There will be a private funeral due to COVID restrictions.
