Charles Arthur Nugent, Jr., 89, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away at his home under the care of Vitas Hospice on April 2, 2015. He was born in Staten Island, NY, but moved to Palm Beach County at the age of 7. He attended St. Ann's Catholic School for elementary and graduated high school from Georgia Military Academy in 1943. He served in the United States Air Force from 1943 - 1946. He Attended Palm Beach State College before continuing his studies towards a Business Degree at the University of Miami where he was a member of the swim team. He graduated from the University of Miami Law School and was inducted into the Florida Bar in 1952. He served as the County Solicitor for Palm Beach County from 1955 - 1959. In 1959, he resigned from the position of County Solicitor to become a member of the law firm of Miller, Cone, Owen, Wagner and Nugent, where he specialized in civil trial work. When he retired from the firm in 1990, the law firm was known as Wagner, Nugent, Johnson, Roth, Romano, Eriksen and Kupfer. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis and Serra International. He will be greatly missed by his family of three sons: Michael (Debbie), Tim, Paul (Susan) and four daughters: Beth (Michael) Burroughs, Tracy Harmon, Barbara Nugent and Jennifer (Steve) Mills. He is also the loving grandpa to eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott, and his wife Barbara, to whom he was married for 58 years and was the love of his life. Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2015 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Lake Worth, FL with interment to follow in Lake Worth Memory Gardens, Lake Worth, FL.
