On Thursday, December 3, Carroll Roy Snyder, loving husband of Susan Boyle Snyder, passed away at age 77 in Jupiter, Florida. Roy was born in Rockland, Maine on June 5,1943. He moved to Florida in high school with his grandmother and, after she died, lived with the Gibbs family. Roy earned a degree in Biology from the University of Florida in 1966 and then served in the US Air Force and attended graduate school. Roy worked in Information Technology for the Palm Beach Gardens School System and later pursued a career in sales. Roy and Sue were married for 50 years and lived a life of shared adventure, love and commitment to each other and dedication to the preservation of the environment. He volunteered many hours in support of the Audubon Society’s Everglades Day. He also enjoyed his work as a docent at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. Roy loved spending time in nature and birdwatching was his passion. He was an avid traveler exploring the north, south and west of the US in his RV and birdwatching in Hawaii, South America, and New Zealand.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Boyle Snyder and his sister-in-law Karen Boyle.
