Sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. I have fond memories of her growing up. Last time I saw her was at my fathers (Richard Brown) visitation in 2012.

Barbara and I became friends during her academic journey at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at FAU.  After achieving her Masters of Nursing and GNP she continued her scholarly work and completed a doctorate in nursing. I was so proud of Barbara.    When she joined the VA I was able to work as her colleague,  That was icing on the cake. Barbara brought her special sense of grace to the workplace and to the Veterans we cared for.  So proud when I heard she found her niche at MorseLife. I am so sorry for her family and friends.  Barbara you are another nurse gone too soon from this world.   Rest in peace dear friend! 

David and I were colleagues of Barbara at the West Palm Beach VA. Barbara was an intelligent, hardworking, elegant member of our team. We remember her perseverance and success in grad school. She set a timeline and achieved her goals. Barbara was a tireless advocate for elders. We remember Barbara with affection.

So sorry that Myk and I are not able to attend today's visitation.  Your mother was a dear friend and great neighbor,  we will miss her more than you know.

I met Barbara during the election of a Nurse Practitioner (NP) Board representative for the Florida Medical Director's Association. She and I were the only candidates. Somehow I won the election and Barbara was always gracious and helpful to me in that roll.  She had once started a Florida Nurse Practitioner Organization for GAPNA.  While that did not stay active, she became very active when it was re-formed in 2010. 
    She was such a giving person, an excellent NP,  and a very classy lady.  We arrived at an airport for a convention and were picking up luggage at the same time.  Mine was worn and hers was a beautiful tapestry protected in plastic . I made a comment, shrugged and we both started laughing. This picture may have been from that conference. I am on the left, Beautiful Barbara in the middle and Bea Mathews on the right.  
    She always had loving comments about her family and I am sorry I cannot be there in person.  You will be missed Barbara and always a treasured memory.

Barbara was such a leader in the world of gerontological nurse practitioners. She served on the the board of NCGNP which eventually became GAPNA. She started the GAPNA Foundation to support education and research interests of advanced practice nurses. She was smart, funny, well spoken & a total fashionista.
