Audrey was born on October 4, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to Carl and Helga Larson, the second of two children. She attended James Madison High School and was active in the band, drum and bugle corps, and Swedish dance troupe. She met her husband David Louis Rauterkus on Jones Beach and they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage together. They lived a number of years in the northeast mostly in New York state. They were living in the Town of Rye, New York before moving to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in 1974. In 2012, she moved to Ocala, FL to live near two of her daughters.
She wore many hats in her life of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, visiting with and corresponding with friends and family, cooking, traveling, reading, listening to music and hunting for bargains in thrift stores. Among other things she will be remembered for are her Swedish Meatballs, the many cards she wrote, remembering everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries, lending a hand when needed, and her caring nature. She was a very loving person. One of her many accomplishments included receiving an associate of arts degree at Westchester Community College. Audrey was active as a community volunteer in Palm Beach Gardens at P.B. Gardens Hospital, VA Hospital, the Kravitz Center, Eissey Campus Theater, the Flagler Museum, Nativity Lutheran Church, and Palm Beach Gardens High School. The clubs she enjoyed were Moving On, Singles Club, and the P.B.G. Woman's Club. She volunteered in Ocala at Timberridge Hospital and was a member of the Scandinavian Club, Widows and Widowers, Joy Lutheran Church, and the Red Hatters. She is survived by her four daughters: Barbara Giordano (husband Ken) of Tucson, Arizona; Diane Webb (husband Damon) of Micanopy, FL; Carol Frink (husband Bill) of Port Orange, FL; and Linda Pigeon (husband Chuck) of Ocala, FL; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Helen Clark, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, two nephews and one niece.
