Originally from New York City, Anthony grew up on the Lower East Side with his parents Diana and Charles, sister Maria and brother Irving, all pre-deceased. He attended high school at Seward Park and was serious about his learning. After school he took a job at Curtis Publishing company, where he met his future wife Paula in 1963. They were married in 1965 and celebrated this 59th wedding anniversary this past September.
After being honorably discharged from the army, Anthony worked in transportation for the MTA traveling up and down Long Island for 25 years . In 2002, he and Paula retired down to West Palm Beach, Florida to the community of Cypress Lakes where they have been ever since. He was a staple there; usually found on the bocce court, traveling along the green in his golf cart or occasionally fishing by the lakes. He loved to cruise all around and watch horse races at the track.
He will be cherished and remembered for his passion for golf, the enjoyment he had for collecting and his unique turns of phrase. He had a green thumb and loved to garden and tend for the greenery around his home and loved to take on projects; whether that be painting or tinkering. He had a competitive spirit but above all else, his dearest love was his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Paula, his two children; Donna and son-in-law Fred and Anthony and daughter in-law-Kelly. His four beloved grandchildren Tina, Amanda, Brianna, and Jenna will miss their Poppy so much.
A visitation for Anthony will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417.
