Mr. White my heart hurts knowing you are no longer with us, but I know you will watch over ALL OF US like a Hawk! You were a genuine, honest and true friend.

I am very saddened to learn of Allan's passing.  He was champion of women and persons of color in what could often times be a hostile New York legal environment.  I valued his support, his experience, his humour, his wit.  He will be missed.  My deepest condolences to the family.  

Allan was an amazing man and a good friend to me many years ago in South Florida the world lost a good man

Allan gave me my start as a lawyer when he hired me in 1992. I enjoyed working for him for the next 25 or so years.  He enabled me to have a great career while still being able to actively raise and care for my family.  He was also a very kind man. In 1996 when I was pregnant with my first child, and our office was in the process of moving from one building to another, he insisted that I not lift any heavy boxes and arranged for others to do that for me.  7 years later, when my daughter accidentally left her favorite pair of shoes behind at a relative's house in Sag Harbor,  Allan, at my request, retrieved them, brought them into the office, set them down on my desk and said “The Eagle Has Landed”.  My daughter, who was in 2nd grade at the time, wrote him a lovely thank you note, which he carried around in his back pocket the day he received it, so that he could show it to everyone in the office. I feel a tremendous sense of loss and wish his wife Gaylen and daughter Elisabeth my most sincere and heartfelt condolences. 

Allan will be missed greatly - I will fondly remember as part of his routine that he stopped by the golf shop to see how we were doing. He did the same thing all days he played golf at South Fork and enjoyed seeing the same staff and catching up. His routine will be forever remembered, and we will speak of him often.
