My Aunt (Mary) and we never called her Aunt, we were told in no uncertain terms, it was MARY.
So Mary was our second Mom from the time Harold and I were born until she died. So if we ever got in trouble we felt the wrath from Mom, Dad and Mary. 
But she was always there for us no matter if it was just conversation, support or guidance.

My Gram 

My gram was a remarkable women who raised many kids but I was lucky to be the last one she raised so I got the most of what she learned with all the other kids that came before so let's just say by then she was a sessoned super hero gram . She was so kind and gentle as long as you were good but if you were not her wooden spoon came out lol she taught me to cook to love to drive to bake to be a lady to ride a bike she gave me the love of farm and nova Scotia life the gift of loving and keeping up with extended family and everything above and in between . She went threw all my childhood struggles and my adult ones she was there she might not have always like what I was doing but she was always there during my late teen early adult life I was in a horrific car accident and was prescribed some pain pills I was only 17 and had no idea what they really were and I became hooked on them so one day I decided i needed help to come off them I was so sick and called my gram to take me to the addiction clinic I didn't tell her where we were going I figured she would just drop me off and I would get home my self but gram being gram and worried she wanted to wait with me so we went in and after sitting there for a while she tapped me on the shoulder and said mary this is a drug clinic I said yes but can we talk about this later she of course replied with all I wanted to say is I'm so proud of you and I'm here if you need me I was so relived she wasn't mad at me she was just happy to be there for me that was my gram always there when you needed her . I can't ever put into words how much her love and support ment to me I only wish is that she left us knowing how much she ment to me . Because my world has shattered into a million pieces knowing I will never see her again 💔 I love you gram I hope you and papa are together with harold and Tyson and aunt Kay till we meet again xoxo

Memories of Mary for my Brother and myself start in the late Forties when Harold and I were born.
In our earlier years, she was Aunt Mary to us but as we became older she was Mary (and don't you forget it!!)
But in reality, she was our second Mother and Special sister to Mom. This was the person you would confide in, the person who taught you to drive, the person who would let you borrow the car when you were only 17, and maybe the person who gave you a few bucks on the side when you were going on a special event.
Aunt Mary was ALWAYS there whenever Harold and I needed.
There were summer trips, Cottages in Wasaga, many Christmases together and trips down East to see Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins over the years.
And during all this time Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim always made time for the many visits from our Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who came to town. This also included making room for anyone needing to stay over while looking for jobs and ensuring everything was going okay for them.
This was our Aunt Mary who will always remain 39 years old in my eyes.

Aunt Mary was a special lady. Growing up I knew I was always welcome at her house as I spent time with my cousin Cindy.  She would make everyone who entered her house feel welcome and would offer you a cup of tea and usually a homemade baked treat. Aunt Mary was always available to listen. My mom (Mary's sister) who passed away 23 years ago were very close. I'm sure they are having a good talk to catch up now that they are together. Aunt Mary will be missed by all those whose lives she touched but when we think of her we will with a smile. My condolences to her daughter Cindy, her grandchildren Becky, Paul and Mary and her great grand children and many nieces and nephews across the country.
