Mark Nugent Kerr passed away on May 4, 2015, at the age of 81. Born in Ayr, Scotland on March 19, 1934, he immigrated to Canada in 1957. Mark settled in Toronto where he met his future wife Nancy (Annie) Ingram and they raised their two children. Mark worked for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for 33 years. He started as a cleaner, but quickly became a Wireman fixing subway cars, and was eventually promoted to Technical Support. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs hockey fan and enjoyed playing the game with the TTC Greenwood Gremlins. He loved to take pictures of his family on their many trips to Florida and all over Ontario. Mark and Nancy walked nearly every day at the Ajax waterfront, the Guild Inn park, or the Rouge Beach where he enjoyed taking many photos of the wildlife and beautiful scenery. His love of photography and computers merged when his granddaughters Kathleen and Hannah arrived on the scene almost simultaneously with digital photography. He kept the extended family, from Florida to Scotland, updated on the many adventures with Grandma and Grandpa with his photo slideshow CDs and DVDs. He was also everyone's go-to tech support. Mark will be fondly remembered by his neighbours and the local businesses that he frequented and always greeted with friendly conversation. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy, children Mark and Emily, daughter-in-law Christine, granddaughters Kathleen and Hannah, nephew Dennis (Helen), niece Fay (Louis) and extended family in Scotland. Mark's family wish to thank the nurses at Centenary Hospital for their dedicated care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. Family and friends are invited to visit on May 30, 2015, between 11am and noon, followed by a Memorial service and reception to be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., West Hill, ON (1 block west of Kingston Rd).
