Margaret passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Extendicare Guildwood on the 6th of December, 2014, in her 85th year. She will be sadly missed by her husband Peter, children Jeffrey (the late Mary) and Alison (Kurt), and grandchildren Laura (Sean), Sarah (Graeme), Jacquie, Phil, and Lydia. The family would like to thank all those who cared for Margaret during this time, especially the staff at Extendicare Guildwood. Born in Wallsend-on-Tyne, England, Margaret emigrated with her husband and family to Canada in 1966. Margaret was a long-term volunteer guide at the Toronto Zoo, and was presented with a volunteer service award by the Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Lincoln Alexander. A dedicated homemaker, and talented seamstress, she greatly enjoyed gardening, baking and photography. Margaret was a devoted follower of the Canadian National Auto Rally scene and well-known there for her photos and baby blankets. Cremation has taken place at the family's request. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough, ON, on the 18th of January, 2015 from 1-4pm.
