Never alone, peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in her 79th year at Centenary Hospital. Joyce of West Hill beloved wife of Kees predeceased just 22 short days before. Loving Mother of Michael (Wonda), Merilee (Mark). Ever so proud and loving Oma to Melodie, Karly & Braden de Groot, Christopher and Ashlee Santacona. Dear sister-in-law to Martina Haverkort. She will be missed by Bernie, Lily, Barb and Wally. A special thank you to Deanie for the loving care she gave her in her final time. Remembered with loving memories by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Joyce & Kees lived in the West Hill community owning the gas station at Kingston Rd/Lawrence Ave. since 1956. They started out with B/A, then Gulf and retired with Petro Canada. The family of Joyce de Groot will receive friends at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home and Cremation Centre “Scarborough”, 4115 Lawrence Avenue East, West Hill, Ontario (1 block west of Kingston Road) on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5 - 8 pm. Funeral Service at St. Margaret’s-in-the-Pines Church on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11 am. Joyce will be laid to rest at St. Margaret’s-in-the-Pines Churchyard. If desired memorial donations may be made to Sick Kids, Brain Tumor Research.
