Peacefully, surrounded by family following a brief illness on Wednesday April 26th, 2017 at Providence Healthcare Centre in his 84th year. Beloved husband to Eileen for 54 years. Loving father of Brendan (Helen), Kevin (Lisa) and Adrian (Meagan). Cherished Grandpa to James, Andrew, Stuart, David, Nicholas, Colin and Sarah. Jim will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his extended family in Scotland, New Zealand and British Columbia as well as many friends. We wish to thank our family and friends as well as Dr. J. Chiarotto and the wonderful team of doctors and nurses at the Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital for their dedicated care of Jim. Deep gratitude is also expressed to the compassionate staff led by Dr. Brodie in the Palliative Care Unit at Providence Healthcare Centre. Visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 4115 Lawrence Avenue East, on Saturday April 29 from 3-5 p.m. and Sunday April 30 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church – Highland Creek, 200 Morrish Road on Monday May 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
