Trevor as celebrant during his Toronto visits.   We pray for love, strength and peace for his wife Sylvia, family and friends here in Canada and Trinidad who will certainly miss his presence here on earth, but his heavenly home is indeed God's will being done in his life.

Dear Sylvia:
We are very sorry for the loss of Gerry Oliver.  He is the most humble, polite and faith-filled gentleman.  We have known Gerry for more than 10 years as a Knight of Columbus and as a pilgrim.  Aggie recalls a trip to the US recently when you were away and Gerry wanted to buy you an outfit so he asked Aggie to tag along with him to Macy's and other stores to help him choose.  On every pilgrimage Gerry brings a CD of his choicest steelpan music - truly talented in music.  We have so many wonderful memories of Gerry.  Our deepest condolences to you and your family.
May God grant Gerry eternal rest and may his soul rest in God's peace.

Our sincere condolences to Sylvia and the  Oliver family. I have known Gerry for more or less 5 years now when I started playing with him in the 12:15 mass choir at St. Barnabas Parish Church. He was always a jolly person, always with a smiling face, so easy to get along with. I found myself in a situation one time where I felt like I was an outcast and he suddenly appeared out of nowhere and gave me and my wife some company and an all-time friendship.
We will sorely miss you Gerry. May you rest in peace. The angels in heaven has a new recruit now. God bless. Amen.

As an immigrant just like Gerry, my kids were looking for their grandfathers who have passed away long time ago from my home country.  And Gerry filled that void.  He never missed giving my kids treats every single Sunday Masses at St. Barnabas while singing in the choir.  He's giving the kids healthy treats too, like apples.  We joke around so many times.  I helped him put away all his steel drums and music instruments every Sunday. When I learned about his condition I left him a message just to console him.  And every single night we mentioned his name in our prayer.  And several days later he's gone. We missed him a lot.  Rest in peace Gerry and please intercede for us in Heaven.

To Sylvia and family, our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved Gerry Oliver, may his soul rest in peace. First I want to give thanks and praise to our heavenly Father for giving us such a wonderful gentleman, husband, father, uncle and a true FAITH man...never missed sunday's mass as he always there with the choir played his most beautiful Steel drum.  I called him Ray Charles (yes with his dark glasses) of St Barnabas Parish, and Tim's mate with the late Danny Mcneil.
Every sunday morning he came with at least 2 heavy bags full with biscuits, ginger candies, rosaries, candles and other things to give away or share with others. Of course we (Jenny and me) will missed him to bring the ginger drink for us from his beloved wife Sylvia. Thank you Sylvia for also sharing your beloved husband time for our parish community, Knight of Columbus and his faithfulness to Fatima Devotion. May the Holy Trinity and the Holy Family shower you and family with their blessings and comfort, peace during this difficult time and may Mother Mary cover you with her mantle of love, welcome and embrace Gerry in her arm.....have a safe journey home Gerry....till we meet again.

I was so sorry to hear of Gerry's death.   About 5 months ago he talked about finally going to the doctors after much weight loss and we prayed together.   We were part of the 12.15 choir but so much more than that.  Gerry always had a loving word to say, biscuits and sweets to share, rosaries to give and a BIG BIG heart.  He will be sorely missed.   His steel drumming will be remembered forever at St. Barnabas.  My condolences to Sylvia and the whole family.

Our sincere condolences to Sylvia and the family.  Maria Wennik has mentioned most of the thoughts that came to our minds when thinking of Gerry.  Yes, he was known for being a very generous person, always carrying a bag with goodies - candies, rosaries, holy pictures etc.  He actually gave Sheldon a relic of The Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney.   Quiet and always had a good word to say to everyone.  He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace. Amen.

The Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate in Cambridge are very sorry to hear about the loss of Gerald.  He called our convent often on a daily basis to see how we were all doing and to give us prayer intentions.  We have been offering our prayers for him.  God bless his family.

My most sincere condolences to Sylvia and the whole family. Gerry was so very much loved by a lot of people, especially in St. Barnabas Church, in which he was the best steel drummer any church could have.  He did so much for God and mankind and was always ready to help others, sending Rosaries overseas to people with no money to be able to buy them, was one of things he constantly did. He was just an all-round good person and will be missed by us all. May he rest in peace in God's Mighty Hands.
We had a lot of talks in the car on the way to and from church. I personally miss him already and wish Sylvia and the family God's Help in their time of mourning.
