Armando was born on April 12th 1921 to Estanislao and Paulina. A well decorated man of the military, Armando was proud to have served his country as an intelligence officer as well as an immigration officer for the Philippines. Aside from his many accolades Armando found a passion for golf; one of his proudest moments was playing a round of golf with President Ford. Armando was a proud member of The Golden Lions Club.
Armando is preceded in death by his daughter Liberty Rivera.
Armando is survived by his children Frithzie Alvir, Jennifer Lancaon, Richard Rivera, Audie Rivera, Bernadette Mendoza, and Armando Rivera Jr; as well as his 12 grandchildren.
Armando embodied the meaning of loyalty and with that mantra he built a strong foundation for our family. His presence will always remain.
Visitation for Armando will be held Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1 to 8 PM at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave East, West Hill, ON M1E2S2. A mass of christian burial will occur Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11 AM at St Joseph's Catholic Church Highland Creek, 200 Morrish Road, Scarborough, ON M1C1E8. Burial to follow at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Scarborough General Hospital Dialysis Unit.
