Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saler family.  I know that onkle Tony is together again with his mom, dad,sister,brother and brother in laws. Enjoying good food, drinks and listening to good German dance music in one heck of an Oktoberfest.

We are still in shock over the sudden passing of "Uncle Tony".  The memories we shared are so special to us now and we will always cherish precious time spent together.  
Our deepest condolences go to "Aunt Lori" and Angela and all the family at this difficult and sad time.  May precious memories of special times shared also give you some comfort.

I will miss Uncle Tony terribly. I was fortunate to have spent a great deal of time with him as I was growing up. He was my swimming buddy at the cottage, and the person I would call if I was home alone and scared. We spent many hours sharing a bench at Cedarbrae Mall waiting for the shoppers, chewing  “spicy gum “ (he always had cinnamon Denyne on hand), and talking to strangers.  He was a joyful, hardworking man, with a spring in his step and a huge heart.  I count myself lucky to have had him as my uncle.  May you Rest In Peace Uncle Tony.

Florence and I extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Anton Saler (Tony).  Where it not for the ongoing Covid pandemic issues we would attend his celebration of life in person.  Notwithstanding this sad occasion I cannot help but smile when thinking of Tony.  My fondest recollections are of frequent occasions when I and my family (wife Elisabeth Oswald and son Richard (both deceased) and daughter Sandra) visited my sister-in-law Anna Schmidt’s house and saw Tony, Joseph Schmidt, Simon Resch and father-in-law Martin Oswald sitting around a card table, in the middle of the living room, having lively card games while the ladies sat on the couch or in the dining room discussing issues that we, mere menfolk, likely wouldn’t have understood and the kids congregated either in the kitchen or played in the basement rec room.  This would inevitably lead to Tony bringing out his harmonica and entertaining everyone with some happy folk songs.   Alas now everyone of the card playing gang has left us.  If there is a consciousness or soul that survives us in another realm, I can see them once again congregating, dealing cards, trumping each other while having some home-made wine or Schnapps until Tony brings out his trusty Hohner harmonica to lead them all in music and song.  May they all rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Tony’s passing.  I will always have fond memories of uncle Tony at your cabin when we were young kids, when he visited here and when our oldest son got to meet him.
