William "Bill" Stone, 84, of South Dennis, died peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Walpole, MA to the late Philip and Mary (Conroy) Stone, he lived in Foxborough before moving to the Cape 40 years ago.
Bill was a proud US Navy WWII veteran and past commander of the Foxborough VFW. He was a building inspector in Yarmouth for 31 years; an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and had a passion for building.
Bill is predeceased by his brothers John and Philip and sisters Phyllis Williams and Joyce Smith. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Clare (Norton) Stone and his dear sister Rosalie Patchin of Foxborough, MA. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend memorial visitation from 9am to 10:30am Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home 260 Main St. W. Harwich, MA 02671 followed by an 11am Memorial Mass at Holy Trinity Church 246 Main Street W. Harwich, MA 02671. A committal service with military honors will follow mass at the Holy Trinity Columbarium.
