Thelma G. Curran, 92, passed away on July 16 after a lengthy bout with renal disease. Thelma was a resident of Harwich for almost 50 years. She spent her last few years under care of the wonderful staff at the Wingate skilled nursing facility in Brewster. Thelma is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Mitch Benedict and two grandchildren, Collin and Cole Benedict. Thelma was born in 1925 in West Sayville, NY to immigrant parents from the Netherlands. An instinctual nurturer, loving mother and grandmother, a friend to animals her entire life, she will be missed dearly by all who knew her. The family plans to hold a memorial service in Thelma’s honor later this year.
