Susan M. Horvath, 64, of Harwich, passed away gracefully on Monday, September 26, 2016. She was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Dominick and Mary (Vandak) Horvath. Susan was a graduate of Sewanahka High School and Central Connecticut State College (class of 1974) and later went into the mental health field. She was also a gifted business woman and entrepreneur, having started a number of successful enterprises. Susan was involved in community and political activities and was an avid tennis player participating in many local tournaments. She believed in organ donation and was an advocate in health and environmental issues.
Susan was a dynamic, charismatic, and fun person; she was truly larger than life. Her quick wit and winsome smile were disarming; she had style and grace. If you were friends with her, you could consider yourself most fortunate. She moved to the Cape settling in Dennis Port and lived in Harwich for the past 25 years.
Susan is survived by her loving brothers Robert J. Horvath (his wife Janice) of Hicksville, NY and Peter J. Horvath of Harwich, MA; her adored nieces and nephews Christopher Horvath (his wife Allison), their children Abigale and Ethan; Patricia O'Neil (her husband Edward) and their children Kate and Emma; Brian Horvath (his wife Adrienne) and their children Robert and Emmett; Nicole Horvath and Grace Horvath.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in her honor 12 noon to 4 PM Saturday, October 1, 2016 at her residence at 464 Pleasant Lake Avenue, Harwich MA 02645. Private cremation services are under the direction of Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Harwich, MA.
