Ronald Daigle, age 59, of Harwich MA died on February 18, 2022 after a long illness. He was a graduate of Fort Kent High School in Fort Kent Maine, and earned his welding degree from Washington County Technical College in Calais, Maine. He began working as a teenager with his father at J. Paul Leveque Mill, then on to Bath Iron Works, International Paper Mill, Gagnon Drywall, and S & L Tree Service. He was most known for his 15 plus years of owning his own business, Daigle Tree Service. His shop on Queen Anne Road in Harwich was a gathering place for many and he was known and loved by so many in the Harwich business community. In 2009 he went to work for the Robert B. Our Company where he put to work his amazing knowledge of machinery, mechanicals, construction, site work, and anything and everything that was asked of him. There was not much that Ron couldn’t build or fix. He built his own home in Harwich as well as the barn for his partner’s horses. In the rare moments when he wasn’t working, helping someone, or fixing something, he could be found at his camp in Eagle Lake, Maine where his heart felt most at home. Many good times were had at the camp with his family and friends through the years. In his younger years he rode the Pan Mass Challenge, and would volunteer at the water stop in Brewster every year. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, boating, hunting (especially moose), and spending time in the woods and by the fire with family and friends. His amazing work ethic, his kind and generous heart, his iron will, and his sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his partner of 20 years, Kristen Goulis, who was by his side in life and death, his “mother-in-law” Karen Goulis, his 8 siblings: Nelson (Rita) Daigle, Jeannine (Dave) Hobbins, Robert (Cheryl) Daigle, Eric (Joni) Daigle, his twin Donald (Donna) Daigle, John Daigle, Jim (Manon) Daigle, and Tammy Paradis, as well as several aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves his sister-in-law Cheryl (Walker) Daigle, “brothers-in-law” Philip, Richard, and Kevin Goulis, his “brother from another mother” Russ Holmes, his wife Susy, and their daughter Emily, friends John and Kevin Eldredge, and Jessica Madore who was like a daughter to him. He is pre-deceased by his parents Norman and Gilmay (Theriault) Daigle of New Canada, ME, his brother Claude Daigle of Harwich MA, his brother Peter Daigle of New Canada, ME, and his nephew Adam Daigle of New Canada, ME. Special thanks for fantastic care to nurses on South 2: Kristi, Kate, Rachael, and Kelly, and CNA Lisa. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 12, from 11am - 2pm at Doane Beal and Ames, 260 Main Street, West Harwich followed by a service in the funeral home beginning at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Adam R. Daigle Scholarship Fund, c/o Fort Kent Community High School, 84 Pleasant St., Fort Kent, ME 04743, or the PAN-MASS Challenge https://donate.pmc.org .
