Laurel Anne Provost

and Women's Hospital on May 6, 2013 following a courageous battle with

heart disease. Laurel was born in Woonsocket, RI as the second child

of Anne (Skrzat) and Charles Susel. She is predeceased by her brother

David Susel of Woonsocket, RI.

Laurel graduated from St. Claire High School in 1963 and married

Michael Provost in 1965. The couple lived in Endicott, NY for a brief

period then resided in North Smithfield, RI until 2004. She was the

proud mother of two loving and caring children, David M. Provost of

Hamilton, MA and Amy M. Provost of Portland, OR. She was also the

adoring grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren – Ellis, Emery,

and Kai.

Laurel and Michael retired to Harwich, MA on Cape Cod in 2004 where

she enjoyed the delightful sights, sounds and many friends of that

coastal community. She thoroughly enjoyed knitting, painting, and

reading but derived the greatest enjoyment from helping others as a

Nursing Assistant at the St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield,

R.I. and as a dedicated volunteer at the Harwich, MA Council on Aging

during her retirement.

Laurel was quick to make friends and always provided a genuine

welcoming smile to all. She will surely be missed by the many she

touched and forever cherished by her loving family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 11,

2013 at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street in West Harwich, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harwich, MA Council on Aging.
