Born on July 6, 1927 in Rockville, CT, she was the daughter of the late Merton and Marion (Keating) Tuttle. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1945.
In 1946, she married Richard Franklin Quinn at St. Bernard’s Church in Rockville, CT remaining married for 49 years.
For many years, she worked as an administrative secretary in the Vernon Rockville School District. In 1984, she retired and moved to Harwich.
Dorothy was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich. She was also a member of the Harwich Garden Club at one time and loved growing herbs and flowers in her gardens. She was an early member of the Guild of Harwich Artists, especially enjoying the Art in the Park venue. Painting with oils, her work depicted the turn of the century Victorian era, presented in a folk art style. She also enjoyed playing golf, reading, and solving crossword puzzles
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Arre and her husband, Stephen of Harwich; as well as her son, Richard Michael Quinn of Chatham.
Friends may call from 4-6 pm on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main Street in West Harwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Holy Trinity Church, 240 Route 28, West Harwich, MA 02671. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Harwichport.
