Clare A. Stone

Clare A. (Naughton) Stone, 87, of South Dennis, passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nora Naughton of Norwood, MA. Clare was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William Stone and by her siblings, Edward Norton of Norwood, David Naughton of Norwood and sister Eileen Forrest of Norwood. Clare worked for many years at Kendall Mills in Walpole before moving to South Dennis in the ‘80s. She also worked for the Town of Harwich in the Tax Collector’s office for many years before retirement.

Clare’s passion for animals was only rivaled by her love for everything “Cape Cod”. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially going to Ireland with her family to visit relatives.

Clare is survived by her brother, Kevin Naughton and his wife Jean of Wilmington, NC; her sisters, Mary Ziergiebel, and her husband John of North Attleboro; her sister Kathleen Naughton of Norwood and her sister-in-law, Barbara Naughton of Norwood, MA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will take place Saturday, December 11th from 11-12 noon at Doane, Beal & Ames, 260 Main St. (Rt. 28), W.Harwich, MA 02671 immediately followed by a 12 noon service. Committal service will take place at the Holy Trinity Memorial Wall.

Masks are recommended and for those unvaccinated, masks are required.
