Ginny Kinney, 90, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Kennybrook Village in Grimes. A Private memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines with inurnment at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
Virginia was born May 14, 1926 in Des Moines, IA to John and Margaret (Martin) Hanrahan. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Drake University. Ginny was married to her husband, Tom Kinney for 66 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ginny enjoyed golfing and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Virginia is survived by her five daughters, Linda (Jay) Patterson, Sue (Don Dumdei) Usher, Jan Kinney, Karen Kinney and Kelly (Matt) Furlong; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosemary Leahy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom and three brothers.
