Rosemary, age 89, passed away on October 24, 2015 at Bright Kavanagh House hospice from metastatic melanoma cancer. She was born Judith Rosemary Lovelace on November 25, 1925 to Everett and Lucille Lovelace in Allerton, Iowa and grew up in Southern Iowa before moving to Des Moines in 1947. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Mervin and brother, Bill.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Gibbs Cook Equipment where she met her husband and then at Marquette and Monarch Cement before retiring at 62.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her sons, Craig and Brian with daughter-in-law Cheryl whom she always thought of as her own daughter. She is also survived by her grandsons Kyle (Emily) and Lucas and great-grandchildren Ashley, Vince, and Aaron and other dear friends and relatives.
She proclaimed she had a very full life and was very proud of her family. She was so looking forward to reaching 90 years old but was not able to make it another month. She lived for family and was a very loving and caring person thought of by many friends as just a sweet lady.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bright Kavanagh House for their support and care.
Visitation will be at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines, Iowa on October 28, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be on October 29, 2015 at 1 p.m. also at McLaren's Chapel with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband Merv.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosemary's name to HCI Bright Kavanagh House.
