He was raised in Waterloo and Cedar Falls until 1959, when the family moved to the Des Moines area. Ron graduated from Valley High School in 1961 and from UNI in 1965. While at UNI, Ron met the love of this life and future wife, Jeanne Doering. Ron and Jeanne were married on September 11, 1965 in Waterloo, IA and were sweethearts for more than 54 years.

Ron spent the majority of his working career in sales and marketing with the Procter and Gamble Company. He was always proud to offer his clients value added products and exceptional customer service. After retiring, RC enjoyed cheering on the Cyclones, spoiling his grandkids, and taking vacations with his family where many priceless memories were made. He also enjoyed the weekly highlight of Thursday lunch dates with the “Valley Boys,” his high school buddies of nearly 60 years.
Special thanks to doctors Daniel Buroker, Sue Beckwith, Olaf Kaufmann, and Andrew Peterson, and to the nurses who provided such compassionate care for Ron.
Over the course of his life, Ron was mentored in his Christian faith by Pastors David Moore,
Daniel Anderson, Gary Clark, and most recently by Mike Housholder and staff at Lutheran Church of Hope. Pastor Mike often reminds us we are all sinners in need of a Savior. What a precious gift to know Ron has now met his Savior, Jesus.
