Born in Valley Junction, Iowa, Rita was the daughter of Gilbert and Bridget Rocha. Rita graduated from Valley High School. She was employed at Iowa Power for several years as a customer service representative.
Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, volunteering with the hospice, and spending time with friends and family.
Rita will always be remembered for being a great dancer. She would walk to the Val Air Ballroom in the 1950s, at the age of 14. She was also dancing at Cinco de Mayo last year at the age of 75.
Rita is survived by her son Paul Moreno (Michelle Dawn) of Des Moines, daughter, Ann Marie Moreno of West Des Moines, grandchildren, Maya Moreno of West Des Moines, Lauren Bear of Cedar Rapids, and Keenan Bear of North Dakota, great-grandchildren, Dondria Kie, Evelyn and Aida Awonohopay and Jared Ryan. Her grand-dogs, Rico Chihuahua, and Davi will also miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Bridget Rocha, brother, Ramon Rocha, and her granddaughter Nora Wynd Moreno.
