Myrna Rae (Wolfe) Basart, 80, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at McLaren’s.
Myrna was born on September 8, 1944 in Des Moines to Cecil and Barbara (Hood) Wolfe. She enjoyed stock car races at the fairgrounds and Boone, making quilts, adult coloring, and spending time with her grandchildren. Myrna loved shopping and attending the Iowa State Fair.
Myrna is survived by her son, Brad (Kristy Basart-Morse); three grandchildren, Adam Morse, J and Zachary Basart-Morse; sister, Phyllis (Jim) Coe; brother, Bill (Joni) Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; and sister, Connie.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to West Des Moines Christian Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or Suncrest Hospice.
