I bought Mikes BBS system Spitfire in 1988 and ran it for some 6 years until 1995.  Buffalo Creek will always be in my memory  and a big thank you to mike for sending me on a computer career that has taken me around world for the last 40 plus years.

MIKE WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE YOU MEET ONCE IN A LIFT TIME AND GET TO KNOW. WE GOT TO KNOW HIM AS A GREAT INVESTIGATOR THROUGH THE LOOSE (MURDER) OF MY YOUNGER BROTHER, ROGER ATKISON. MIKE HAD IT SOLVED BUT THE SHERIFF DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH HARD EVIDENCE. MIKE WAS A GOD LOVING PERSON.

Mike was an inspiration to me in the early 1990s, when I switched to Spitfire BBS software.  I had the opportunity to speak to Mike on the phone at one point and he provided great guidance to me.

I am so sad to hear of Mike's passing.  My husband, Ira Lichtenstein met Mike in 1989 when Spitfire was used as BBS.  He came out to Des Moines Iowa with other Sysops.  He spoke highly of Mike and enjoyed the time he had there.
I give you my condolences and blessings to you.
Sadly, my husband Ira, passed away in May 2022.  He died suddenly at the hospital before the surgery started.  It was a total shock to me as it was unexpected.  I know what you are going through and pray for you to take baby steps to help you move through your grief. I wish to offer my condolences to Ann and the family for the loss of Mike.  I had no idea he was sick.  Mike and I worked together for many years with the IAM and shared the same month and year for our birthdays.  He always reminded me I was an old guy but it was only 19 days.  He was a journeyman in his trade of representing working men and women.  May God bless him.

Very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Were are 2nd cousins, but did not get to know one another until we were middle aged. We were each musicians and had been each in bands over the years. Mike and I were members of the board of directors of the Iowa Rock and Roll Association. We also recorded a few songs together via the internet. Mike was a great and caring guy. May he rest in peace.

So sadened to hear this news.  As you may know I was involved in many of Mike's musical projects.  Many of which had notable accomplishments.  Also we shared in the IRRMA (Hall of Fame) for many years.  Our prayers are with you & know that comfort will come from above.  It's not over, there is much more to come!
